Located about 3 kilometers (we've converted!) from Oviedo, the students and instructors made the very-much-worth-while trek to visit the pre-Romanesque Asturian churches of Santa María del Naranco and the nearby church of San Miguel de Lillo. Although the conservation of these churches is impressive and awe-inspiring structures (both were complete in the 9th century), the view of the city below was simply beyond words!
