Astorga

In the last of our optional excursions with the students, we headed to the nearby towns of Astorga and Castrillo de los Polvazares. Astorga, known for its chocolate, and Castrillo, recognized for the preservation of its stone homes and unpaved streets will provide quite the dramatic contrast for students with next week's trip to the very cosmopolitan Madrid. Shown here is the famed Museo de los Caminos, designed by none other than the reknowed architect Gaudí himself.
