On Friday morning, students and instructors met a little bit earlier than usual so that we could depart for the first group excursion outside of our host city. After a lengthy busride (though everyone could appreciate the extra time to sleep!), we arrived at our first stop, the Palacio Real de la Granja de San Ildefonso. The palace, dating back several centuries, showcased a number of tapestries over 500 years old and featured much of the original artwork and furniture. As no pictures were allowed indoors, those seen here are from the beautiful garden's on the palace grounds.
